After completing this program, participants will be able to:
Identify areas of potential malpractice risk;
Understand ethical and legal aspects of providing psychological services;
Improve medical record keeping; and
Demonstrate knowledge of ways to reduce the risk of a malpractice claim and/or licensing board complaint.
This course provides practitioners with essential information on how to reduce the potential for becoming the subject of a malpractice lawsuit or licensing board complaint. Topics include meeting the standard of care, record keeping, confidentiality, office policies, and boundary violations. Includes information on the application of law and ethics to practice.
