Completing this program should:
Extend your knowledge of the use of dreams in psychotherapy;
Guide you in helping clients explore the meaning of their dreams by integrating Developmental Counseling and Therapy (DCT) into the therapy session;
Give you a case example that demonstrates the use of DCT in dream analysis.
In counseling sessions, clients often present dreams as material to use in making meaning of their experiences. This course provides a brief review of historical perspectives on dreams and dream interpretation and provides a foundation for examining dreams as an integral part of counseling practice. Developmental Counseling and Therapy (DCT) is described as a useful model for dream interpretation, and a case example illustrates the application of this model.
