Course Description
This handbook is the latest in a series that the Open Learning Foundation has published since 1995. It is designed to be of assistance to educators who wish to make use of open and flexible learning approaches in a systematic and planned way within existing or proposed higher education and training courses. Though it is specifically concerned with an initiative within a health and social care education environment, much of what follows can be generalised to any area of the higher education curriculum.
Like earlier handbooks in the series, and particularly Using Open Learning in Social Work1 by the same author, this one aims to provide information, discussion and guidance to aid the planning and implementation of open learning. It addresses key issues and makes specific suggestions in the form of Planning and Implementation Points. It also identifies a range of additional resources for enabling staff and organisational development in support of open learning.
